Café Ursula was built as a summer café in the Olympic year of 1952. Over time, the building has become outdated from a technical standpoint, and after several expansions throughout the years, renovating the restaurant to meet the needs of modern restaurant operations and growing customer traffic is no longer viable in a cost-effective way. Therefore, it has been decided to replace the current restaurant building with a new one.
According to the current plans, Café Ursula will close in the fall of 2026, and it will continue to serve customers normally until then. The new building is expected to be completed in the spring of 2027.

Fall 2024
Project initiation
The decision to initiate the renovation project has been made, and preparations for the necessary permitting process have been made.
Fall 2026
The start of construction work
Café Ursula will close for the duration of the demolition and construction work.
Winter 2026
Construction work in progress
The new Café Ursula will be built according to the plans. At the same time, landscaping work will be carried out on the surrounding area.
Spring 2027
Completion and opening ceremony
The new Café Ursula will open to customers 1st of May, 2027.
Café Ursula will serve customers as usual until the fall of 2026.
